Compensation: $90K-$128K Based on Experience

Schedule: Monday – Friday (Exempt)

Industry Understanding/Interest

The Fleet Manager responsible for all aspects of the PBM's fleet of vehicles, including logistics, safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations. The purpose of fleet management is to comprehensively oversee and optimize all aspects of PBM’s fleet operations, including but not limited to vehicle acquisition, maintenance, compliance, driver management, routing and logistics, fuel consumption, and overall utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development of the Company’s logistics operations, including the coordination and planning of daily routing of the fleet with the goal of optimizing efficiency.
  • Oversees the acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of vehicles. This includes determining when to purchase/lease or retire vehicles and equipment
  • Establishes and oversees data tracking practices, such as fleet mileage, repair requests, fuel management, and inventory. Uses GPS systems to monitor drivers' driving patterns and optimize routes for efficiency
  • Performs cost and data analysis to identify ways to reduce operating expenses and carbon footprint impacts
  • Manages insurance policies for the fleet and implements risk management strategies to minimize accidents and insurance claims
  • Assists in recruitment efforts to staff qualified drivers and spearheads all driver related trainings
  • Serves as a leader to drivers and mechanics, ensuring that vehicle-related operations are safe, productive, and cost-effective
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in logistics/transportation management, supply chain, or related fields
  • Proficiency in using fleet management systems and software for tracking, maintenance, and reporting
  • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights to improve fleet efficiency and performance
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and terms with vendors, suppliers, and service providers
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to transportation, vehicle safety, and environmental standards
  • Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics and maintenance practices to ensure proper upkeep and troubleshooting
  • Skills in budgeting, cost control, and financial planning to manage fleet expenses effectively
  • Knowledge of best practices in inventory management and supply chain logistics
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently but also able to work well within a team
