Summary The Junior Project Manager position is considered an entry-level position within SDI's West Coast Advisory & Consulting practice. The position reports directly to the Managing Director of Advisory and Consulting and will be assigned to various advisory projects as needed, providing support to the project lead for various engagements underway. The intent of this approach is to provide the individual with ongoing exposure to the Advisory & Consulting practice's approach and methodologies to completing client projects while supporting the project team with a variety of responsibilities.
Responsibilities - Interact with clients regarding the nature of the business need or issue to be addressed.
- Review and interpret business requirements and develop detailed technical requirements.
- Facilitate development of project plans related to schedule, budget, scope and resources.
- Ensure achievement of business goals and objectives by proactively communicating with project stakeholders.
- Follow IT development processes such as change management, configuration management, security compliances.
- Prepare reports and conduct meetings with client, partners, and staff.
- Create documentation for project activity audit trail.
Requisite Skillset
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively engage with both SDI team members and client staff.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to develop written documents, recommendations and reports in an organized, effective manner such that the information is understood by the reader.
- Ability to "read the audience" and adjust approach and communication style to maximize positive communication and interaction.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Requirements - 2 years of experience working in a project management and/or consulting capacity is a plus.
- Conceptual understanding of IT operations and activities including Data Center, Network Operations, Help Desk, enterprise applications, and field support.
- Ability to work both remotely and at client sites as needed.
- Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Two or more (2+) years of relevant business support and/or general analysis experience
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Office 365
- Knowledge of MS Project and Visio software applications
