Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE: Software Developer This is not a remote position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design, develop, and maintain software applications to support the cattle processing and distribution system.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and lead areas of system improvement.
- Conduct Progress 4GL and OpenEdge Advanced Business Language (ABL) development in addition to utilizing C# and the .NET framework to implement efficient and scalable software solutions.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure smooth operation of the system.
- Implement best practices for software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our software products.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Proficiency in C# and the .NET framework.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with continuous delivery DevOps technical practices.
- Leadership experience leading a team of developers.
- Willingness to learn and develop using Progress and Open Edge technologies.
- Experience with database systems such as SQL Server.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment independently and effectively.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in software development, with at least 7 years of experience.
- Experience with C# and the .NET framework is highly desirable.
- Experience with Progress and Open Edge development is a plus but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to work on complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
